Sophomore Molly Wasserman scored once and assisted on another goal to lead visiting Williams past Vermont, 2-0, in a nonconference game at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
The Ephs got on the board late in the first half when Wasserman converted a power-play opportunity at 14:13. Teammates Annie Snodgrass and Tori Scott combined to send the puck across the crease, and Wasserman was there to finish and put the Ephs up 1-0.
Wasserman and Amanda Weber set up Julia Karoly on the insurance goal at 15:39 of the third period. Karoly was able to collect a loose puck and beat UVM goalie Kami Cote on the near side, slipping the puck between Cote and the pipe.
Cote finished the game with 35 saves, while Anna McIntosh made 14 saves to pick up the shutout for Williams (5-1-0). The game also marked UVM goalie Tiffany Hayes’ debut as a skater. Hayes played forward for the Catamounts and just missed on a scoring opportunity.
