Senior forward Tim Yakimowsky scored three goals and added an assist, and sophomore goalie Raj Bhangoo stopped all 31 shots he faced as Wentworth defeated Assumption 5-0 Saturday.
Yakimowsky scored the eventual game-winner — his second in as many games — with 1:47 remaining in the first period, on a feed from junior defenseman Zach Wotherspoon.
He then scored both of the Leopards’ second-period goals, with the first set up by junior forward Jamie Weiss at 9:26. One minute and 39 seconds later, he completed the hat trick, set up by freshman Shawn Metheral and Wotherspoon.
Sophomore forward Alex Marinkovich scored goals number four and five for the Leopards, both in the third period.
Junior goalie Dan Lupi made 37 saves for the Ice Dogs (4-2-1, 1-2-1 ECAC Northeast), who were outshot 42-31.
With the win Wentworth (4-0-0, 4-0-0 ECAC Northeast) marked the first time in school history the Leopards have begun the season with four straight wins.
