Fredonia and Utica Play To 2-2 Tie

In the second game of their first season, the Pioneers of Utica tied Fredonia, 2-2, in the [nl]Buffalo State All Sport Invitational.

Both squads went scoreless in the first period.

Fredonia took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Matt Crane at 7:02 of the second.

Utica tied the game at 1-1 with Jeff Titensor’s goal at 8:11 of the second. Fredonia retook the lead at 13:01 of the period on Christian Fletcher’s fourth goal of the weekend.

The Pioneers tied the game at 2-2 with just under 10 minutes left in regulation.

Utica made three shots in overtime, while the Blue Devils made none.

Jake Miskovic made 21 saves for Utica, while Fredonia’s Will Hamele had 29.

Fredonia (2-1-1) begins its SUNYAC season next weekend with games at Brockport and Geneseo, while Utica (0-1-1) hosts Lebanon Valley, Friday, Nov. 2, and begins its first ECAC West campaign when Hobart visits, Saturday, Nov. 3.
