Fredonia Breaks A Third Period Tie to Down MSOE, 6-3

Christian Fletcher scored a hat trick as Fredonia rebounded to beat Milwaukee School of Engineering, 6-3, in the Buffalo State All Sport Invitational.

Lee Jenke scored for MSOE midway through the first period to give the Raiders their only lead of the night.

The Blue Devils went ahead 3-1 on second period goals by Craig Florkowski, Max Catelin, and Fletcher.

The Raiders tied the game at 3-3 with a 5-on-3 goal by Jacob Bastern, Jr. at 8:16 of the third period and another 5-on-3 24 seconds later by Ryan Puffer.

Fredonia took the lead for good on Fletcher’s 5-on-3 at 10:43 of the third, added Catelin’s second goal of the game with just under four minutes remaining, and the third by Fletcher, an empty-netter, with seven seconds left.

Fredonia’s Will Hamele made 18 saves in the win, while Matt Hirsch made 25 saves for MSOE.

Fredonia (2-1-0) takes on Utica at Buffalo State at 4:00 p.m. ET Saturday, while MSOE is at Buffalo State at 7:00 p.m.
