Bowling Green (0-2-2) rallied froma two-goal deficit to tie Northern Michigan (1-0-1) in Marquette.
Alan Swanson registered a goal and an assist for the Wildcats. Falcon Colen Pappas had the late third-period goal to send the game into OT.
Ryan Carrigan scored from Swanson at 15:37 in the first to give Northern Michigan the 1-0 lead after one. Sean Owens made it 2-0 NMU on a power-play goal at 9:13 in the second.
It was Mark Wires who put Bowling Green on the scoreboard on the Falcon power play at 13:01 in the middle stanza, and Ryan Minnabarriett knotted it up for Bowling Green at 16:24.
Swanson’s power-play goal at 7:16 returned the lead to Northern Michigan, but Pappas answered at 12:06 to make it a 3-3 game.
Craig Kowalski had 28 saves for Northern, while Bowling Green netminder Tyler Masters stopped 36 on the night, including 14 in the second period when the Wildcats outshot the Falcons 16-7. The Wildcats outshot the Falcons 39-31 in the contest.
Each team tallied twice on the power play. Bowling Green went 2-for-5, while the ‘Cats were a perfect 2-for-2 in the match.
Next up for Bowling Green is a pair of home games against Ohio State, Oct. 26-27. The Wildcats travel to Michigan for two next weekend.
