St. Cloud State fell to the University of Regina 5-3 in exhibition action at the National Hockey Center on Friday night.
Regina took a 2-1 lead after the first period, but SCSU junior Roxanne Stang tied the game at 18:40 in the second period.
Regina’s Brandy West gave the Cougars a 3-2 lead on the power play, but Stang again rallied the Huskies, netting her second goal to tie the game. Regina scored two more goals to put the game away at 5-3.
Sophomore Ellen Brinkman made 18 saves for the Huskies in 28:30 in net.
SCSU opens conference action against the University of Wiscosin on Oct. 12-13 at the NHC. Game times are at 7:05 p.m.
