AIC Drops Bentley, 6-3

AIC’s Olivier Gagnon scored two goals and Guillaume Caron added a goal and two assists as the Yellow Jackets edged Bentley, 6-3.

AIC broke a 3-3 tie at 15:33 of the second period when Andy Luhovy scored on a pass from Caron and the Yellow Jackets never trailed again.

Anthony Rufrano added an insurance goal for the Yellow Jackets at 8:24 of the third period and Caron found the back of the net with just 23 seconds left to go in the game to complete the scoring.

Kevin Fournier also scored for AIC. His goal tied the game at 2-2 early in period No. 2.

The Yellow Jackets improved to 10-16-1 overall and 10-11-1 in MAAC play while the Falcons
dipped to 4-19-2 overall and 3-17-2 in the conference.

Gagnon scored the game’s first goal at 9:23 of the first period and added his second at 4:47
of the second with his team shorthanded. That tally made it 3-2 in favor of AIC.

Mike Mulligan started the Bentley scoring when he finished off a shorthanded breakaway at 10:39 of the first period to tie the game at 1-1.

Five minutes later, at 15:22, Scott Trahan took a beautiful pass from Andy Peters and beat AIC goalie Chance Thede with a slap shot to give the Falcons a 2-1 edge.

After the hosts took a 3-2 lead, Michael Ciarletta tied the game at 9:43 of the second when he finished off a beautiful passing play created by Brook Geraghty.
