The Panthers took their first lead of the game when Adam Foote’s shot from the side of the net deflected in off the goaltender.
Wentworth bounced right back to tie the game midway through the period as Alex Marinkovich broke in alone for the goal.
The teams exchanged goals in the final 6:35 to make it a 4-4 game after two periods.
Following a third period in which the Panthers outshot the Leopards 15-2, the game headed to overtime. Middlebury had the best chance to score late in the overtime but could not convert.
