Scott Teeter scored two goals as Canisius defeated Army, 5-2 in MAAC action Saturday afternoon.
Canisius (4-5-2, 3-4-2 MAAC) jumped to an early 1-0 lead on a shorthanded goal from Matt Shewchuk at 3:11 of the first period.
Army’s Tim Fisher knotted the game at the 11:05 mark of the second period.
Teeter got his first goal of the game at the 15:21 mark of the second period and Paul DiPasquale scored with 2:05 remaining the period to give the Ice Griffs the 3-1 lead.
Corey Lucas made it 4-1 for Canisius and then Teeter’s second made it 5-1 in the third period.
Tim Murphy made it 5-2 but it was not enough as the Ice Griffs took the victory.
Sean Weaver made 16 saves for the Ice Griffs and Scott Hamilton made 35 saves for Army (4-8-0, 4-5-0 MAAC).
