Jon Cullen scored the game-winning goal with 4:35 left Saturday as 10th-ranked St. Cloud State gained a 3-1 win over UMass-Amherst.
The win moved SCSU’s record to 8-3-1. UMass fell to 3-7-2.
Cullen completed a career weekend with the winner. Cullen opened the weekend with a four-assist performance during the Huskies’ 4-1 win at Northeastern on Nov. 24.
Amherst opened the game’s scoring at 1:33 of the second period when Thomas Pock scored. SCSU responded less than a minute later as freshman defenseman Ryan Johnson scored his first collegiate goal at 3:16.
Cullen hit his game-winning goal before Tyler Arnason scored the insurance goal on an empty net at the 19:50 mark of the third period.
Scott Meyer was stellar once again with 24 saves for the Huskies as the Minutemen outshot the Huskies 25-23 in the game.
