Middlebury earned back-to-back shutouts on its opening weekend with a 8-0 win over St. Anselm on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers opened the scoring just 1:43 in the game when Adam Foote found Matt Dunn, who wristed a shot to the top left corner from the top of the slot.
Middlebury made it a 2-0 game when J.F. Duchesne took a drop pass from Erick Dalton and then broke to the goal to find the back of the net.
The Panthers took a 3-0 lead in the second period with some nice passing resulting in Dunn’s second goal of the game.
Just 58 seconds later, Matt Snyder put home a rebound to make it a 4-0 game.
Adam Foote added a pair of goals, while Jack Kennedy and Matt Snyder added solo goals to make the final score 8-0. Cooper and Goldman ended the night with three assists apiece.
Marc Scheuer made 13 saves in goal for his first career shutout in his first career start. Michael Waugh made 39 saves in goal for St. Anselm.
