Ivan Prokic and Josh Liebenow scored two goals each to lead Wisconsin-Superior to a 7-5 victory over Augsburg in a nonconference game Friday at Wessman Arena.
Superior, an NCAA Division III Final Four team last season, built a 4-0 first-period lead to improve to 5-2 overall. Augsburg drops to 1-4 with its fourth straight loss — two to Final Four teams and two to Division I Air Force.
Liebenow opened and closed the scoring for the Yellowjackets, while both of Prokic’s goals came on power plays in the first period; he also had two assists.
Prokic, a senior from Belgrade, Yugoslavia, missed last weekend’s games against Wisconsin-Stout and Wisconsin-Eau Claire as Superior scored only three goals.
Despite being down 4-0, Augsburg rallied back to cut the lead to 5-4 early in the third period. Five different Auggies scored in the game, with Nick Murray getting a goal and an assist.
