Eau Claire Rallies For Win Over St. John’s

Wisconsin-Eau Claire rallied from a 2-0 deficit after one period to capture a 4-2 decision over St. John’s at the Hobbs Ice Center Friday night.

Jamie Minor scored a shorthander and a power-play goal to get the Blugolds even with the Johnnies after two periods.

Then Justin Kaufenberg scored early in the third period with the Blugolds down a man for a 3-2 lead. Joe Byrd added the final goal with 13:58 left in the game.

Eau Claire goalkeeper Scott Sutton turned away 52 of 54 St. John’s shots, while the Blugolds fired 34 shots on St. John’s goalie Adam Laaksonen. Rick Gregory and John Konrad scored goals for St. John’s.
