Concordia scored three straight goals to open the game and coasted to a 5-2 victory over St. Mary’s on Saturday. The Cobbers, after narrowly escaping defeat Friday night, held the Cardinals scoreless for two periods and never let them get to within two goals.
Transfer Toby Schneider scored two goals and assisted on another. Schneider scored the only goal of the first period at 13:50. Concordia put the game out of reach in the second period with power-play goals from Schneider and Brady Burgess. The teams traded goals in the third period with Aaron Marsh scoring his first collegiate goal for Concordia.
Cobber goalie Bryan Howard made 32 saves on the day. St. Mary’s goalie Dan Byron stopped 31 shots.
