The Crusaders took a two goal lead in the third period on goals by R.J. Irving and Matt Rinaldi, but the Ice Griffs came back with two of their own. Todd Bisson and Paul DiPasquale scored to knot the game at four.
The Crusaders took the 5-4 lead when Jeff Dams scored on the power play, but with 45 seconds left in the third period Tom Wnuk scored to tie the game at five.
Holy Cross (0-3-1, 0-2-1 MAAC) broke a three game losing streak and will travel to take on Bentley on Saturday, while Canisius (2-1-2, 1-0-2 MAAC) will travel to take on Connecticut.
