The Union Dutchmen got two goals from defenseman Charles Simard in the third period to defeat the visiting Merrimack Warriors, 4-2.
The Dutchmen are off to a 2-0 start for the first time ever in 10 years of Division I play.
The Dutchmen came back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to tie the game each time.
In the first period Anthony Aquino gave the Warriors the lead, but Doug Christiansen knotted it up on the power play for the Dutchmen.
In the second the Warriors regained the lead on a Nick Parillo goal, but the Dutchmen countered with a goal from Jeff Wilson.
The third period saw Simard take a rush up the right wing and flip a backhander towards Warrior goaltender Joe Exter. The puck evaded Exter and the Dutchmen had their first lead of the evening.
Simard added an empty net goal to seal the victory.
Merrimack (2-3-1, 0-1-0 HE) will play a home and home with Boston University next weekend and the Dutchmen (2-0-0, 0-0-0 ECAC) will travel to Providence on Sunday evening.
