Kendra Antony scored two goals and added two assists as Wisconsin completed a series sweep with a 6-2 victory over St. Cloud State on Saturday at the Alliant Energy Center.
Meghan Hunter had her second career hat trick and added two assists for the Badgers.
Antony scored her goals in the first period for a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.
“We talk about coming out strong in the first period,” Wisconsin interim coach Trina Bourget said. “Kendra Antony opened up, she really had a great afternoon.”
St. Cloud cut the lead in half early in the second period when Ricki-Lee Doyle scored on the power play at 3:06, bringing the score to 2-1.
Wisconsin answered with Hunter’s power-play goal on an assist from Sis Paulsen at 7:50 in the second. Three minutes later at 10:50, Hunter put in her second goal of the night off the rebound of teammate Antony. Hunter scored her third of the game, completing the natural hat trick, at 13:56.
The Huskies scored at 17:19 to make it a 5-2 game when Roxanne Stang wrapped around to beat UW goaltender Jackie MacMillan through the legs. Rachel Denner received the assist.
Kerry Weiland closed the scoring at 12:11 in the third, on the power play.
“It was a back and forth game today,” St. Cloud coach Kerry Brodt Wethington said. “They capitalized on our mistakes.”
