Middlebury Stays Atop USCHO.com D-III Poll

Despite yet having played a game, Middlebury picked up three first-place votes and remained in the top spot in this week’s USCHO.com Division III men’s poll. Norwich claimed No. 2; the Cadets don’t hit the ice until next week. St. Thomas, with wins against St. Norbert and Lake Forest lifted the Tommies seven spots to No. 3, and garnered them the remaining two first-place votes.

Plattsburgh Tops USCHO Men’s Div III Preseason Poll

Two seasons ago, Norwich was picked first in the USCHO Preseason Poll. Norwich won the national championship. Last season Plattsburgh was picked first in the USCHO Preseason Poll. Plattsburgh won the national championship. This season, the Cardinals are once again on top of the Poll, looking to repeat as the champs.

Ostapina Leaves NEC for MSOE

After guiding New England College to its best season in his tenure, including a berth in the NCAA Division III tournament, head coach Mark Ostapina has resigned to become head coach at the Milwaukee College of Engineering.

Minnesota-Crookston Names New Coach

After five months and a pair of interim head coaches, Minnesota-Crookston has named Gary Warren its permanent replacement for Mark Huglen, though he won’t begin his role until this season is over.
