Brown beat a ranked opponent for the first time in a dozen years, then did it again the next night, while Providence beat Boston College. Nicole Haase recaps the action.
Candace and Nicole pick this weekend’s games, and for the most part see eye-to-eye.
Though the team is young, the Northeastern Huskies have a strong group of underclassmen leading the way at both the offensive and defensive end of the ice, and that has them off to their best start in program history.
With teams all suffering losses in the first month of the season, and not team having scorers that are lighting the lamp at the expected rate, Nicole and Arlan ponder whether the game finally has the parity that has been on the verge of happening every year. They also discuss the Minnesota-Wisconsin series, why Clarkson is ranked No. 3, the top half of the ECAC, whether Harvard, Ohio State, and Minnesota Duluth can make the NCAA tournament, some of the top freshmen so far, and Northern Michigan’s announcement that it is looking at D-I women’s hockey.
Minnesota ended Wisconsin’s 35-game unbeaten streak, St. Cloud State upset No. 5 Minnesota Duluth, and St. Lawrence and Ohio State split a high-profile, nonconference series.
