Maine beat Boston University 9-6 in a sloppy, strange game Friday night at Walter Brown Arena, leaving both teams in the Hockey East title hunt but looking up at league leader New Hampshire. Linesman Bob Bernard was being kept at a local hospital after an abdominal injury suffered on the ice.
