According to Webcenter11.com, Alaska senior Nolan Youngmun’s defense attorneys have announced they may file for a change of venue.
Youngmun is charged with the rape of a woman at UAF campus housing earlier this offseason.
His defense attorneys said due to publicity of the charges and “new and unfounded allegations,” they wanted the trial held outside of the Fairbanks Courthouse. Lawyers are also seeking to get a polygraph examination taken by Youngmun entered as evidence. Prosecutors have also reportedly been given the chance to administer their own polygraph examination on Youngmun as well.
Youngmun, who has been out of jail and is in the Anchorage area with his court-approved third-party custodians, is set for a jury later this month.
