Holy Cross has named former Niagara goalie and Utica assistant coach Juliano Pagliero the Crusaders’ new assistant coach.
“We are extremely excited to bring Juliano into the Holy Cross Hockey family,” said Holy Cross head coach Paul Pearl in a statement. “He comes to us with extensive college, professional and junior hockey playing experience. As a recruiter and coach he has done an outstanding job over the last few years. He will be a major asset working with our student-athletes.”
Pagliero comes to Holy Cross after serving as a Utica assistant the past two seasons. He replaces Jason Guerriero, who left to take the assistant’s job at Yale.
A 2009 Niagara graduate, Pagliero was the CHA player of the year his senior season and was a three-time All-Conference selection. He was awarded the Niagara University Purple Heart award in 2009.
Pagliero participated in the Ottawa Senators’ development camp following his junior season and after his senior season, Pagliero participated in the Chicago Blackhawks’ development camp and went on to play in the Italian first division for the Alleghe HC until 2010. He also played for the Central Hockey League’s Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees during the 2010-2011 season.
