Boston University has been tabbed as the top team in the women’s Hockey East preseason coaches poll.
The Terriers received six first-place votes.
Boston College, with 51 points, is right behind the Terriers in the poll, garnering two first-place votes. Northeastern’s third place prediction is the highest in team history, while fourth-place Providence is led by two-time WHEA coach of the year Bob Deraney.
Connecticut sits fifth, followed by Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

The league’s 10th anniversary season will open when Maine hosts Sacred Heart for a two-game nonconference series this Friday, Sept. 23. The conference schedule will commence on Friday, Oct. 14 as UNH hosts Boston College.
