Augsburg will honor the coach who took it to NAIA national prominence by renaming the main rink at the Augsburg Ice Arena.
The school will christen Ed Saugestad Rink on Saturday as part of the school’s Homecoming festivities.
Saugestad started coaching the Auggies in his senior year at the school, 1958-59, and coached the team until 1996.
He led Augsburg to the NAIA national championship in 1978, 1981 and 1982.
