The Thanksgiving holiday comes a tough time, both for turkeys and fans of SUNYAC rivalries. Only four of the league’s nine teams will see any action at all during the long weekend, and none of those will face each other. Still, anytime teams take to the ice, there is always the possibility of something interesting breaking out. (Last week’s picks: 2-1).
Friday, Nov. 23
Cortland at Neumann
The first of a two-game set. Both teams like to play close to the vest, but Neumann, winners of three out of four, gets the edge. Neumann 2-1
Saturday, Nov. 24
Brockport at Castleton
Now 2-3-1, it’s hard to believe that Castleton was ranked No. 11 at one point. Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles are very capable of stringing three strong periods together. Brockport 4-3
Sunday, Nov. 25
No. 7 Hobart at Potsdam
Eight games in to the season, Hobart (6-0-2) is still undefeated and skating in mid-season form. The Bears — losers of three out of their last four — are skidding and are struggling to sort themselves out. That will be difficult to do against the cream of the ECAC West. Hobart 5-3
