Defending regular-season and playoff champion Quinnipiac was selected the team to beat in the ECAC women’s preseason coaches poll that was released Tuesday. The Bobcats earned six first-place votes, while Clarkson (four) and Princeton (two) also garnered first-place nods. In addition, the conference also announced its preseason All-League Team.
Boston College garnered six first-place votes and came in first in the Hockey East women’s coaches poll, which was released Tuesday. Boston University (two) and Northeastern (one) also earned first-place nods.
Syracuse received five first-place votes in the annual CHA preseason coaches poll, which was released Monday, and was deemed the top team heading into the 2016-17 season. Mercyhurst garnered the other first-place vote and is slotted second in the poll.
Castleton announced Monday that Bill Silengo has been hired as the head coach of the Spartan men’s program.
