In a vote of 30 local and regional media members, Minnesota-Duluth was picked to win the NCHC this season. The Bulldogs garnered 17 first-place votes. Denver earned seven, North Dakota four and Miami the remaining two.

Michigan has announced former college goaltender L.J. Scarpace as its director of player development, a newly created position. Scarpace has served as the Wolverines’ video coordinator since 2004 and played two seasons at Western Michigan and two at Michigan from 1996 to 2001.
Joe Bonnett has been named an American Development Model regional manager by USA Hockey. Bonnett played at Western Michigan and had been an assistant coach at Colorado College from 2000 to 2014.
The American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins announced on Monday the addition of Pat Ferschweiler as an assistant coach.
