Shields back at Michigan as volunteer assistant coach

Former Michigan goaltender Steve Shields will join the Wolverines as a volunteer assistant coach. Shields played at the school from 1990 to 1994 and became the first NCAA goalie to reach 100 career wins (111), a record surpassed by Marty Turco (125 wins), who also played at Michigan.

Scarpace tabbed Michigan’s director of player development

Michigan has announced former college goaltender L.J. Scarpace as its director of player development, a newly created position. Scarpace has served as the Wolverines’ video coordinator since 2004 and played two seasons at Western Michigan and two at Michigan from 1996 to 2001.
