In response to ongoing health and safety concerns, the members of SUNYAC are suspending fall sports competition. In addition, the winter conference and non-conference hockey schedules will be delayed until Jan. 1, 2021.
Salve Regina, Plymouth State, Saint Anselm, Trinity, and Utica all clinched their league crowns. In the first round of the NEHC playoffs, the top four seeds advanced to the semifinals.
Massachusetts-Boston eked out the NEHC crown with a convincing win over Babson Saturday, while other races tightened. The matchup between No. 2 Geneseo and No. 4 Oswego fittingly ended in a tie.
Geneseo swept Potsdam and Plattsburgh, Norwich earned big wins over Middlebury and Castleton, and Western New England upset Salve Regina.
It was a light weekend in the East, but Anna Maria, Worcester State, Morrisville and Chatham closed their first half on a positive note.
The NESCAC starts play this weekend, and Tim Costello picks a few games from that conference, as well as rivalry games in the CCC and SUNYAC.
The SUNYAC is one of the more competitive conferences, and Geneseo and Oswego look to battle it out this season.
Unlike many conferences that have gone through some changes in make-up, SUNYAC remains intact and formidable in the level of competition across the league.
