Former Michigan Tech video coordinator Nick Laurila has joined Alabama-Huntsville’s staff as director of hockey operations. Laurila, a Carol Stream, Ill., native, is a 2010 graduate of Michigan Tech and spent four seasons in the video role there.
Minnesota has suspended incoming freshman forward Gabe Guertler indefinitely for what a school statement called a violation of team rules. Tyler Walsh has joined Canisius as director of hockey operations after spending the last three seasons as Maine’s student assistant coach and video coordinator. Walsh is the son of former Maine coach Shawn Walsh and the grandson of former Lake Superior State, Bowling Green and Michigan State coach Ron Mason.
