Northern Michigan lived up to its reputation for work ethic, rallying to beat Maine 5-4 in a hard-fought final at the second Everblades College Classic in Estero, Fla. The Wildcats won their second one-goal decision of the weekend on Bryce Cockburn’s third-period goal.
After an embarrassing 6-2 loss Saturday to Maine, the Ohio State Buckeyes rebounded with a 2-0 shutout of the Cornell Big Red in the consolation game of the Everblades College Classic. Bryce Cockburn was the beginning and the end for Northern Michigan, scoring the Wildcats’ first and last goals as NMU topped Cornell in double overtime in the first game of the second annual Everblades Classic in Estero, Fla.
Maine, led by Martin Kariya and Don Richardson on offense, advanced to the title game of the second annual Everblades Classic with a 6-2 win Saturday against Ohio State. The Black Bears stormed out to a 5-0 two-period lead and coasted to the win.

Ohio State earned an overtime win Saturday at Miami, getting the winning goal in forehead-crinkling form from JB Bittner to split the weekend series.
With just .1 seconds left in overtime, Mike Glumac did what many thought would be impossible — score. That goal gave the Miami RedHawks a 1-0 victory over Ohio State.

Mike Betz stopped 27 shots and Ohio State scored two early power-play goals to complete a weekend sweep of sixth-ranked Northern Michigan, 2-0.
T.J. Latorre scored the game-winner and Mike Betz made 25 saves as Ohio State pulled off another upset at home, this one a 3-1 win over Northern Michigan.
