NCHC picks: Dec. 13

It’s taken a little longer than usual, but I’m at the point I usually am now in our season picks race: building a bigger lead on Matthew. Last weekend, I added some distance by picking the North Dakota and Minnesota Duluth sweeps, as I went 7-2-1 (.750), while Matthew was 5-4-1 (.550). On the year, … Read more

Women’s D-III: Norwich looks to flip script in second-half opener as Conway sets sight on records

Under former Norwich standout Sophie Leclerc, currently in her rookie season as head coach, the No. 3 Norwich Cadets are off to a 10-1 start. Leclerc may see one of her current players, Amanda Conway, surpass her in career points. Conway recently broke the Norwich record for goal-scoring, and is currently third all-time in points, trailing her current coach and Julie Fortier. It sets up intriguing storylines ahead of Norwich’s second-half opener against No. 1 Plattsburgh.

On the year, Matthew and I are both 29-23-11 (.547). League games always make picking things harder, so let’s see how we … Read more

NCHC picks: Nov. 15

I gained a game back on Matthew in our season picks race, and if Denver had held on to its two-goal third-period lead Friday, we’d be tied. Oh well. Overall, we both did well, as I went 6-2-2 (.700) and Matthew went 5-3-2 (.600). On the year, I am 25-20-10 (.545), while Matthew is 26-19-10 … Read more

Western Michigan getting back on track ahead of key NCHC weekend series with Omaha
