Welcome back to USCHO.com’s Monday 10 for the 2026-27 season. Each week, we’ll pick the top 10 moments from the past weekend of college hockey.
1. Pandolfo, Naurato earn milestone wins
Michigan’s Brandon Naurato and Boston University’s Jay Pandolfo, both in their fifth seasons at their respective schools, hit the 100-win milestone on the same night.
Naurato’s Wolverines got a 4-3 win at Bowling Green on Saturday, while Pandolfo’s Terriers were 4-0 winners at Alaska.
“I wasn’t even aware, to be honest with you,” said Pandolfo, who played his college hockey at BU from 1992-96. “It feels good. I just want to see these guys have success. I was fortunate to play here, obviously a long time ago, for four years, and had a lot of success. That’s what I want to see these guys have.”
Like Pandolfo, Naurato played college hockey at the school he now coaches. Naurato was a forward for the Wolverines from 2005–09.
2. Denver takes two at Alaska
Denver is now unbeaten in its last 19 games — dating back to last season and including, of course, a 4-0 run in the NCAA tournament that saw the Pioneers clinch the program’s record 11th national championship.

The top-ranked Pioneers began their title defense this past weekend by flying 2,400 miles to Anchorage, Alaska. They made the most of the long trip, taking a pair of games from the Seawolves by an aggregate score of 10-3.
Freshman Ryan Lin scored his first collegiate goal during Saturday’s 4-1 win. Fellow rookies Jack Pridham and Ben MacBeath both picked up their first NCAA points with assists on Lin’s goal. Sam Harris has scored in both games to begin the season.
Denver is now 53-17-7 all-time vs. Alaska Anchorage and 25-8-5 on the road in the series.
3. Colorado College sweeps Hockey East preseason No. 1 UMass
Colorado College opened the season with an emphatic sweep of No. 10 Massachusetts — which had been picked No. 1 in the preseason Hockey East media poll — holding the Minutemen to a single goal on the weekend.

The Tigers won a tight 2-0 contest in the series opener Friday before rolling to a 6-1 win on Saturday.
Colorado College sophomore goalie Jackson Unger had 54 saves on the weekend.
4. Quinnipiac takes Hockey East to task
It was literally brother vs. brother during Saturday night’s 6-3 win for No. 7 Quinnipiac over No. 20 Merrimack, with the Bobcats’ Gabriel Frasca scoring late in the second period with his brother Jacob on the ice. It was the first goal of Gabriel Frasca’s collegiate career.

The Bobcats were 10-2 winners over New Hampshire the previous night. The 16 goals are the second-most in a single weekend for Quinnipiac since 2000.
5. Minnesota Duluth scores lightning-quick goal, sweeps LIU
No. 5 Minnesota Duluth scored early and often in a 4-0 win over Long Island on Saturday night. In fact, the Bulldogs scored the game’s first goal in record-breaking fashion.

It was part of a weekend sweep for the Bulldogs, who won 7-4 the previous night.
6. Wisconsin wins a pair of tight games vs. Robert Morris
No. 6 Wisconsin opened the season with wins over Robert Morris by scores of 4-2 and 1-0.

7. Michigan Tech stuns Minnesota with sweep
With their season opener delayed one day due to ice issues Friday night at John J. MacInnes Student Ice Arena, No. 19 Michigan Tech took a pair of weekend games from No. 14 Minnesota by scores of 3-2 and 3-1. Games originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday night were instead played Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

8. Maine, Holy Cross split
Holy Cross got its first win over Maine in almost half a century on Saturday night when the Crusaders beat the Black Bears 3-2 in overtime at the DCU Center. Feb. 4, 1978 marked the last time Holy Cross beat Maine.

Sophomore Danick Leroux recorded 26 saves in his first win of the season for Holy Cross. Senior Will Elias led the Crusaders with five blocked shots, bringing his weekend total to 12.
Maine was a 4-1 winner the previous night when the teams met at Hart Center Rink.
9. Arizona State, Lindenwood split
With Arizona State coach Greg Powers placed on paid administrative leave as the university continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the Aug. 20 team workout that left sophomore transfer Matthew Mayich hospitalized, the Sun Devils’ season got underway with a split at Lindenwood.

It’s been only two games, but Maryville has yet to lose in the entirety of its existence as a Division I program.

Maryville rallied from a two-goal deficit to win Friday’s opener 3-2 behind a pair of goals from Antoine Dorion and a late game-winner from Gustavs Ozolins. The Maryville Saints (St. Lawrence is also the Saints) completed the sweep Saturday with a 3-1 victory, getting goals from Anthony Hall, Dorion and Blake Pilgrim-Edwards.
“It certainly wasn’t pretty all the time, but our guys found ways to make timely plays and get big saves when we needed them,” Maryville coach John Hogan said. “I’m really proud of our players and staff, and happy for all the people who have supported us and helped get Maryville hockey to this point. To come on the road and earn a weekend sweep is a pretty special way to start our transition season.”
