New Hampshire athletic director Allison Rich confirmed she departed her position following the expiration of her four-year contract, according to a social media post.
“After four unbelievable years serving as the Director of Athletics at the University of New Hampshire, I am leaving to focus on some exciting new opportunities and projects” she said on her LinkedIn account in a post dated June 30.
“I will share more about those in a separate post/update,” Rich added.
Rich came to UNH in 2022 from Princeton, where she was an undergrad and served as Senior Associate Director of Athletics for nine years. She also served on the NCAA Division I Council and was chairperson of the NCAA Infractions Appeals Committee.
A UNH official confirmed Rich’s last day was June 30. The school said a search is underway for the next athletic director.
During Rich’s tenure, the UNH men’s hockey team went 37-60-10 over four seasons, while the women’s team went 60-70-11 in that span. Neither team made the NCAA tournament.
“I am incredibly pleased with our competitive success as a strong NCAA Division I program and the new standards we set for academic excellence, student-athlete care, fan experience, revenue generation, and fundraising,” she said in the post. “(I) look forward to watching how UNH Athletics proceeds and grows from here.”
