NoDak’s Livanavage, Wiebe sign NHL deals

Two North Dakota players are going pro.

Jake Livanavage has signed a two-year, entry-level deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and Abram Wiebe has signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Calgary Flames.

Livanavage’s contract will begin in the current 2025-26 campaign and runs through the 2026-27 season. Livanavage will report to Pittsburgh and is expected to make his NHL debut in the near future.

In three seasons at North Dakota, Livanavage appeared in 117 games and accumulated 82 points (14-68). He was a two-time All-NCHC First Team selection.

Wiebe is set to join the Flames immediately and was expected to make his NHL debut on Saturday night in Seattle.

Wiebe played three seasons with the Fighting Hawks and appeared in 118 games — never missing a game over his entire career. He finished with 10 goals and 53 assists for 63 points..

This year, Wiebe had a career-high 29 points to pace all UND blueliners while also notching a plus-13 rating.
