Duluth’s Gajan signs with Blackhawks

Minnesota Duluth goalie Adam Gajan has signed with the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks, the team announced.

The two-year, entry-level contract runs through the 2027-28 season and comes with a $1.05 million salary-cap hit, according to the team.

Gajan, 21, posted career highs in games played (33), wins (19), save percentage (.908), goals-against average (2.25) and shutouts (2) with Minnesota Duluth this year. He led the Bulldogs to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2022 and also competed with the U.S. Collegiate Selects at the 2025 Spengler Cup, logging a 1-1-0 record, a .873 save percentage and a 4.03 GAA.

The 6-foot-3, 189-pound goalie compiled a 26-25-2 record, an .899 save percentage, a 2.65 GAA and three shutouts in 54 career games from 2024-26. Before college, Gajan appeared in 49 regular-season games with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL from 2022-24, with a 28-13-4 record, .894 save percentage, 3.84 GAA and one shutout. He also made one trip to the USHL playoffs with Green Bay, posting a 2-2-1 record with a .901 save percentage and a 2.86 GAA.

Gajan represented Slovakia at the 2026 Olympics in Milano/Cortina and competed with Team Slovakia at the 2023 and 2024 IIHF World Junior Championships, compiling a 5-3-0 record, a .927 save percentage, a 2.45 GAA and two shutouts.
