Merrimack forward Justin Gill was suspended one game stemming from an incident at 15:39 of the second period of Saturday’s game at UMass.

Gill was called for an illegal contact to the head after a late hit on UMass forward Mikey DeAngelo at around the 15:00 mark of the middle frame. UMass subsequently challenged the play and Gill was assessed a game misconduct penalty.

DeAngelo recorded an assist in UMass’s eventual 3-1 win.

Gill is ineligible to play Jan. 22, the first of two home games vs. Northeastern. He is able to return to the lineup the next night.
