
Third-ranked Boston University tied Colgate 2-2 on Saturday night at Agganis Arena in Boston.
After neither team could find the winner in overtime, the Terriers won the shootout 2-0.
“As a staff, we are happy for our guys to trust that they are good and able to achieve,” Colgate coach Mike Harder said. “It’s not perfect, but it’s a start.”
In a back-and-forth battle, the Raiders struck first on a Ryan Sullivan goal at 10:17 of the first period before Cole Eiserman scored for the Terriers at 5:25 of the second period, already his fifth of the season, to make it a 1-1 game.
Then in the third period, Colgate again took the lead as Antonio Fernandez scored 1:48 into the period, but BU’s Jack Murtagh tied the contest at 2-2 with 15:25 left to play.

With 44 seconds remaining, BU’s Sascha Boumedienne fired home a shot from the point, but Colgate successfully challenged for offside, negating the play and sending the game into overtime.
Eiserman and Jack Harvey both scored for BU in the shootout while goaltender Mikhail Yegorov (23 saves) stopped both of the Raiders’ attempts.
Colgate goalie Andrew Takacs finished with 33 saves.
Ice Breaker
In the Ice Breaker at Mullett Arena in Tempe, Ariz., No. 8 Quinnipiac won the consolation game, 7-2 over Notre Dame.
The title game between No. 15 Arizona State and Alaska was still in progress with Logan Morrell staking ASU to a 1-0 lead late in the first period.

Nathan Lewis, Adam Eisele and Felix Caron scored for Ohio State as the Buckeyes downed Northern Michigan 3-1 at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
