Denver junior forward Troy Terry has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks.
Terry finishes his collegiate career with 115 points (45 goals, 70 assists) in 115 games, tied for 63rd among Denver’s all-time scorers. He also ended his career second in team scoring and eighth in NCAA scoring during the 2017-18 season, logging 48 points (14 goals, 34 assists) in 39 games and leading the team with 34 assists and a plus-21 plus/minus rating.
Terry also earned NCHC Second-Team All-Conference honors this season.
Internationally, Terry was one of four NCAA players selected to play for the United States men’s team at the 2018 Winter Olympics, where he led the Americans with five assists. Terry also helped the U.S. win the gold medal at the 2017 World Junior Championship and the 2015 IIHF World U18 Championship.
All four NCAA players from the Olympic team – Terry, Harvard’s Ryan Donato (Boston), Boston University’s Jordan Greenway (Minnesota) and St. Cloud State’s Will Borgen (Buffalo) – have now signed NHL contracts since their respective seasons ended, all leaving with collegiate eligibility remaining as well.
