SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Niagara Purple Eagles erased a two goal, third period deficit with two goals from Kirk Spriggs in the first six minutes of the third period, and tied the game once again on a Derian Plouffe goal at 14:21 of the final frame. However, the American International Yellow Jackets emerged victorious and moved on to the second round of the Atlantic Hockey playoffs with an overtime goal courtesy of Blake Christiansen who beat Eagle netminder Brian Wilson 8:02 into the second overtime frame. Yellow Jacket goaltender Stefano Durante stopped 31 of the 34 shots he faced in the victory while forward Hugo Reinhardt led the Jacket offense with three assists.
