Minnesota State 7, Alaska-Anchorage 1

Zeb Knutson scored twice and Marc Michaelis, Connor Mackey and Daniel Brickley each contributed multiple point games as the Mavericks rolled to a 7-1 win over visiting Alaska Anchorage.

The hosts, now winners of four in a row, raced out to a 4-0 lead after two periods following goals by Dallas Gerads, Michaelis, Reggie Lutz, Knutson, and Jake Jaremko. Knutson and C.J. Suess poured it on with goals in the third before the Seawolves’ Alec Butcher broke the shutout on the power play at 12:27 of the final frame.

Minnesota State, which improves to 20-7-0 overall and and 16-5 in conference play, outshot Alaska Anchorage by a 43-18 margin. The Seawolves fall to 2-21-4 overall and 2-16-3-3 in WCHA play.
