ECAC Picks, November 4-5

ECAC enters its first week of conference play. Here are this weekend’s games. All games this weekend are either 7 or 7:05 p.m. starts.

Friday, November 4th

Quinnipiac at Clarkson

The Golden Knights have had a decent start but have hit a slide last weekend. I don’t see that changing Friday. Quinnipiac takes this one.

Cornell at Dartmouth

The Big Green are riding high from their victory over Michigan, but I believe it will be Cornell taken this one from their fellow Ivy League school.

Colgate at Harvard

Colgate is coming off a tie and a victory over Maine while Harvard swept Arizona State last weekend. While I think Colgate has the firepower to keep this one close, Harvard comes out on top.

Brown at RPI

Brown has had some early struggles last weekend, I see them continuing this weekend. RPI will bounce back and beat Brown after being swept last week by Union.

Princeton at St. Lawrence

Both teams will be looking to get back into the win column this weekend. With some high hopes this season, the Saints should get back on track with a win over Princeton.

Yale at Union

This should be one of the better games of the weekend. Union has the top line but will need them to continue to produce if they want to have success. I think Yale jumps on a Dutchmen squad that’s coming off a loss to Holy Cross.

Saturday, November 5th

Princeton at Clarkson

This game is where I see Clarkson getting back on track. The veterans will need to step-up because the Tigers aren’t going away easily. It will be close with the Golden Knights taking it.

Colgate at Dartmouth

This should be another close contest. Dartmouth with an younger squad will be still trying to figure things out. Colgate will survive and go back home with the victory.

Cornell at Harvard

Another game I will be keeping an eye on this weekend. I like both teams and what they bring to the table. Harvard will come out on top, probably in an one goal game.

Yale at RPI

RPI will need to continue its 30.7 shots per game average if they to win. They will also need to get their power play numbers back up at 14.3 percent to win. I think Yale has the skill to get by the Engineers. The Bulldogs win.

Quinnipiac at St. Lawrence

This will be a battle of two different styles as the Bobcats are usually a strong offensive team while Kyle Hayton has proven to be a very good goalie. In both situations, it hasn’t been the case this year yet. I think the Bobcats offense prevails with a victory.

Brown at Union

It doesn’t get any easier for the Brown Bears as they will be facing a hungry Union squad. I don’t think they will be able to stop Mike Vecchione, Sebastian Vidmar and company. Union salvages the week with a victory.
