York undergoes eye surgery, will miss Boston College’s games this weekend

Boston College head coach Jerry York underwent outpatient eye surgery to repair a detached retina on Thursday morning, the school announced in a press release.

York is now home and expected to miss both games against New Hampshire this weekend, the release added. BC associate head coaches Mike Cavanaugh and Greg Brown will run the team in York’s absence.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Jeffrey Heier at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston.
