Been off for a while due to the holidays, after going 3-1-1 in my last round of picks in early December. My season selections now stand at 25-5-4 (.794), and several ECAC West teams have nonconference games on tap this weekend:
Jan. 4
Oswego at Elmira
The Lakers shutout the Soaring Eagles to start the season, albeit in Oswego. Elmira (5-8-0 overall) has been reeling a bit lately, and this probably isn’t the best game for it to get back on track. Oswego, 6-3
Salve Regina at Utica
The Pioneers (9-2-0), winners of four straight contests and five of their last six, have just too much firepower for the Seahawks. Utica, 7-4
Mass-Dartmouth vs. Neumann
Look for the Knights (5-4-2), who snapped a four-game winless streak in their last outing, to prevail over the Corsairs in the first round of the Northfield (VT) Savings Bank Holiday Tournament, hosted by Norwich. Neumann, 4-2
Jan. 5
Oswego at Utica
Look for the host Pioneers, who won, 3-2, at Oswego last month, to make it two-for-two over the visiting Lakers at the Aud. Utica, 3-2
