The sincerest of apologies. We have found and corrected a glitch in our PairWise Predictor, that I didn’t realize existed until this morning. Therefore, the scenarios I ran last night were not accurate, and indeed, I have found ways to put UMD into the tournament. So the below, is not valid.

As of right now, I can’t seem to find a way to get Minn.-Duluth in the tournament.
What’s hurting UMD right now? That 5-2 loss to Vermont in December. That loss is causing comparison losses against all Hockey East teams except New Hampshire (because UNH went 3-2-1 against Vermont and 0-2 against Wisconsin).
As a result UMD is not going to be able to turn any of those comparison losses to Hockey East schools around.
And then the 3-1 loss to NMU in October along with the fact that UMD already owns comparison wins over Ferris and Alaska, does not help.
And UMD is going to have a hard time turning any more comparisons in its favor.
It’s looking bleak Bulldog fans.
