Freshman forward Wade Richardson scored a pair of goals and sophomore Dennis McNally added two assists as Manhattanville defeated Wentworth, 4-1, in a nonleague contest at Matthews Arena.
The Valiants scored first, as Richardson notched his first of the game from McNally and freshman forward James Willis at 10:10 of the first. Wentworth countered with a power-play goal from sophomore Alex Marinkovich with 21 seconds left in the period.
The game remained tied until Willis notched the eventual game winner at 19:11 of the second. Willis’ goal, assisted by McNally and junior forward Chris Siefert, was a power-play goal.
Manhattanville added two third-period goals to ice the game. Freshman forward Brad Olson scored at 12:35, and Richardson added a shorthanded tally at 17:12.
Junior Jon Peczka made 29 saves for the Valiants, while junior Jamie Vanek turned aside 34 shots, including 16 in the second period, for the Leopards.
Manhattanville improves to 12-4-3, while Wentworth drops to 16-4-0.
