The WCHA women’s conference announced Tuesday that it has assessed a one-game suspension to Minnesota junior defenseman Milica McMillen. It’s the final weekend of the regular season, and a lot of teams are battling for playoff position in their conference tournaments, as well as positioning for possible NCAA berths. How it all plays out is anyone’s guess, but Candace and Arlan take a look.
The award, celebrating its 20th anniversary, is given annually to college hockey’s finest citizen.
Boston College’s undefeated season came to an end, North Dakota beat Minnesota, Quinnipiac suffered another conference loss, and Mercyhurst took another step toward the CHA regular season title. Candace and Arlan look at that and more.
Ohio State, which was generally one of the better teams in the WCHA’s infancy, has fallen off some in recent years, but there are signs this year of a resurgence, such as the road tie with Minnesota last week.
