Wisconsin-River Falls led the selections for the All-USCHO Women’s D-III teams with five players, while national champion Plattsburgh has four players on the teams.
After posting a perfect conference record in the regular season, Elmira coach Dean Jackson led his team to the national championship, where they were edged by Plattsburgh. Jackson is the USCHO coach of the year.
After finishing fourth in the country in scoring as a rookie, with 15 points more than the next highest rookie in scoring, Plattsburgh star Kayla Meneghin has been named USCHO Women’s D-III rookie of the year.
Plattsburgh hosts the D-III Women’s Frozen Four this weekend, facing Norwich in one semi, while Elmira faces Wis.-River Falls in the other. The teams have been near the top of the rankings all year, so it comes down to one weekend.
