Alabama-Huntsville 3, Alaska-Anchorage 2 (OT)
\nMatt Salhany’s second goal of the season with 1:06 remaining in overtime gave the Charges a 3-2 victory and a two-game road weekend sweep of the Seawolves.<\/p>\n
Alabama-Huntsville jumped out to a 2-0 lead on second period goals by Hans Gorowsky and Kurt Gosselin. The Alaska-Anchorage came charging back. Matt Anholt cut the lead to one with 14:08 remaining and Nils Rygaard’s shorthanded marker at 14:07 of the third sent the game to overtime.<\/p>\n
The extra session, though, was all Chargers as they mustered all three shots, ending the game on Salhany’s late marker.<\/p>\n
Bemidji State 3, Alaska 1
\nThe Beavers scored twice in three power play opportunities and goaltender Michael Bitzer made 21 saves as Bemidji State overtook Alaska, 3-1. Brendan Harms and Charlie O’Connor each scored a goal and added an assist to pace the offense.<\/p>\n
Ferris State 3, Bowling Green 1
\nThe Bulldogs got goal at even strength on the power play and shorthanded en route to a 3-1 victory on the road over the Falcons. Three different scorers found the net for Ferris State and goaltender Justin Kapelmaster finished with 26 saves in the victory.<\/p>\n
Minnesota State 2, Lake Superior 1
\nBrad McClure scored a first-period power play goal and Jordan Nelson tallied shorthanded in the second to pace the Minnesota State offense. Lake Superior’s J.T. Henke added a power play goal of his own in the second but that wasn’t enough as the Mavericks held on for a 2-1 road victory.<\/p>\n
Michigan Tech 5, Michigan State 1
\nFive different goal scorers paced the Michigan Tech offense as the Huskies skated past Michigan State, 5-1. Michgan Tech allowed just 18 shots on goal including four in the game’s final period.<\/p>\n
Wisconsin 2, Northern Michigan 0
\nThe Wildcats couldn’t find a way to solve goaltender Jack Berry as the rookie stopped all 22 shots he faced to earn a shutout in his first career start.
