BOSTON<\/b> — Merrimack’s Mike Collins and No. 4 Providence’s Steven Shamanski traded third-period, power-play goals as the teams skated to a 1-1 tie on Saturday at Fenway Park in the opener of a Frozen Fenway doubleheader.<\/p>\n

The Warriors’ Rasmus Tirronen made 32 saves, three of them in overtime to preserve the tie. The Friars’ Nick Ellis stopped 30 shots, including a Connor Toomey penalty shot in the second period.<\/p>\n

Collins broke a scoreless tie 7:23 into the third period with the Warriors on a five-on-three power play.<\/p>\n

Shamanski answered on a power play 2:26 later.<\/p>\n
